So, which chips can you munch on if you gotta stay away from that gluten stuff? Well, a whole bunch of ’em, actually. Them potato chips, most of ’em are okay. You got your Kettle brand, Lay’s (but not all of ’em, mind you!), Ruffles, Late July, and Cape Cod. See? Lots to choose from! My grandkids, they love them Lay’s, the plain ones, you know? They eat ’em by the handfuls, and their bellies seem just fine.

Now, about Lay’s, gotta be careful. Most of the regular ones are alright, but stay away from that BBQ Mesquite Lay’s. They got some kinda barley flour in ’em, and that ain’t good for the gluten-free folks. Frito-Lay, the folks who make Lay’s, they got a whole list of gluten-free stuff, so you can check that out if you’re worried.

And then there’s Doritos. You know them cheesy, crunchy triangles? Well, only one kind is gluten-free, the Doritos Toasted Corn Tortilla Chips. Just that one, so don’t go grabbin’ any other kind, or your stomach might start complainin’. I tried them once, not bad, but I like my plain chips better, ya know?

But here’s one you gotta watch out for: Pringles. Yeah, them chips in a can. They got wheat starch in ’em, and that’s a big no-no for folks who can’t eat gluten. So, keep them Pringles on the shelf, don’t even look at ’em! My neighbor, Martha, she ate a whole can of Pringles once, didn’t know about the gluten, and boy, did she have a bad time. Said her stomach felt like it was tied in knots.

  • Gluten-Free Chips:
    • Most potato chips (Kettle, Lay’s (mostly), Ruffles, Late July, Cape Cod)
    • Doritos Toasted Corn Tortilla Chips
  • Chips to Avoid:
    • BBQ Mesquite Lay’s
    • Pringles

It ain’t always easy findin’ the right food, especially when you got one of them fancy food allergies or somethin’. But lucky for you chip lovers, there’s plenty of gluten-free options out there. Just gotta know what to look for, and what to stay away from. And if you ain’t sure, ask! Don’t be shy. Better to ask than to have a rumbly tummy all day long.

And you know, it ain’t just about chips neither. Lots of folks are lookin’ for gluten-free stuff these days. Bread, pasta, cookies, you name it. Seems like everythin’s got a gluten-free version now. Guess that’s a good thing, more choices for everyone. But sometimes, I just miss the good ol’ days when you didn’t have to worry about all this fancy stuff. Just ate what you had and that was that. But hey, times change, right?

Anyway, back to them chips. So, you got your list, go to the store, and pick out some good gluten-free chips. And don’t forget to read them labels! They got all the information you need on them little packages. Just gotta know what words to look for. Gluten-free, wheat-free, that kinda stuff. And if you’re still confused, ask someone who works there. They’re usually pretty helpful.

Now, I’m gonna go grab myself a bag of them plain Lay’s. My stomach’s startin’ to rumble just thinkin’ about ’em. You enjoy your chips too, ya hear? And remember, eat what makes your belly happy!
