Okay, so I’ve been trying to eat gluten-free for a while now, and let me tell you, finding fast food that fits the bill can be a real pain. I was out and about the other day, starving, and I thought, “I need to figure this gluten-free fast food thing out, once and for all!”

So, I grabbed my phone and started searching. I typed in “gluten free fast food near me,” and hoped for the best.
My Gluten-Free Fast Food Adventure
I scrolled and looked at all the options poping up. It’s a lot of the usual suspects, you know? The places that have, like, one or two things you can maybe eat if you modify the heck out of them.
I wanted to find what I could realistically get, and what changes I should make.
- I found some burger joints that are pretty good. I can order a burger without the bun, or sometimes they have lettuce wraps. That works! I should remember ask for no sauces, though – you never know what’s hiding in those.
- Then there are Mexican places. I can usually get corn tortillas, so tacos are an option. And rice bowls are another option.
- I also realized some chicken places that some offer grilled chicken options. That’s great cause I love grilled chicken.
It took a little digging and some careful menu reading, but I actually managed to put together a decent list of places I can hit up when I need a quick, gluten-free bite. It’s not perfect, and it definitely requires some planning, but it’s way better than being stuck with nothing but a sad side salad!
I decided to hit up one of the chicken places that are showing grilled chicken. I ordered a grilled chicken salad with no croutons and a light vinaigrette * I also ordered a fruit cup!

It wasn’t the most exciting meal I’ve ever had, but hey, it was fast, it was gluten-free, and it kept me going. Mission accomplished, I guess!
