Where to Buy Gluten Free Atta in India

Okay, so, I’ve been trying to find a good gluten-free atta here in India, and let me tell you, it’s been a bit of a journey! I started this whole thing because, well, I’ve got this gluten intolerance thing going on. It’s not fun, trust me. So, obviously, regular atta was out of the question.

Where to Buy Gluten Free Atta in India

Started Searching…

First, I searched online, just to see what’s out there. I found a bunch of brands, but I wasn’t sure which one to go for. There was this one, “Aashirvaad Nature’s Superfoods Gluten Free Flour,” that caught my eye. It’s made from jowar and ragi, and it says it’s a good source of fiber and protein. Sounds healthy, right? Then I saw another one called “Dr. Gluten Multigrain Platinum Chapati Flour Atta”. They claim it is vegetarian. Also, I found “Pure Sure Organic Jowar Flour”, it sounds good, too. However, I didn’t buy any of them from the Internet, I want to see them in person.

Went to the Supermarket…

So, I decided to hit up a few local supermarkets. I figured it would be easier to check out the products in person and compare them. I asked the staff about it, most of them have no idea what I was talking about. Finally, I found some different brands, including the Aashirvaad one I saw online and Ganesh.

Checked the Ingredients…

I spent a good amount of time just reading the labels. You know, checking the ingredients, the nutritional info, all that stuff. I learned that some are just jowar flour, while others are a mix of different flours, like jowar, ragi, flaked rice flour, and even psyllium husk powder. It seems like it’s just a blend of different flours.

Made a Decision…

After comparing a few different options, I finally settled on the Aashirvaad one, and Ganesh, these two brands look good to me. I figured it’s a good starting point. It seemed like a good balance of nutrition and, hopefully, taste.

Tried It Out…

When I got home, I tried making rotis with it right away. I was a little nervous, not gonna lie. But, it actually turned out pretty decent! The rotis were a bit different from the regular ones, of course, but they were soft and tasted pretty good.

Over the next few weeks, I kept experimenting with the gluten-free atta. I tried making different things with it, like parathas and even some snacks. Some attempts were more successful than others, but overall, I was happy with the results.

  • Finding gluten-free atta in India is totally doable. There are options out there, you just need to look around.
  • Reading labels is super important. You want to know what you’re putting into your body, right?
  • Don’t be afraid to experiment in the kitchen. You might be surprised at what you can create!

It’s been a bit of a learning curve, but I’m glad I went through this whole process. Now, I can enjoy my rotis and other Indian breads without worrying about my gluten intolerance. It’s a win-win!
