Whats on the menu at a jade dim sum buffet? A guide to popular dishes.

So, I’ve been craving some good dim sum lately, and I heard about this place called Jade Dim Sum. I figured, why not give it a shot? The place is over at 2280 Dixie Rd in Mississauga. I checked it out online, saw some photos, and it looked pretty decent, so I decided to head over there today to see what’s what.

First off, getting there was no big deal. Parking wasn’t a hassle, which is always a good start. When I walked in, the place was buzzing. It’s pretty popular, especially during lunch and dinner, even on weekdays, I guess. I went with a couple of buddies, and we were all starving, ready to try a variety of different dishes.

We got seated, and the first thing we did was order tea. Dim sum without tea? No way! They had a decent selection, and we picked a couple to try. While waiting for our tea, I took a good look around. The place was clean, and the staff seemed on the ball, so that was a plus.

The tea arrived, and then came the fun part – the food. We ordered a bunch of stuff: siu mai, har gow, char siu bao, and even some egg tarts for dessert. Everything came out pretty quickly, and let me tell you, it was all delicious. The siu mai and har gow were particularly good, just the right texture and flavor. And the char siu bao? Perfectly fluffy with a tasty filling. But this is what we ordered:

  • Siu Mai: These were juicy and flavorful. Each bite was perfect.
  • Har Gow: The shrimp inside was fresh and bouncy. The dumpling skin was just right – not too thick, not too thin.
  • Char Siu Bao: Fluffy buns with a savory and sweet pork filling. These were a real treat.
  • Egg Tarts: A sweet ending. The crust was flaky, and the custard was smooth and not overly sweet.

We stuffed ourselves, that’s for sure. Every dish was on point. The service was quick, and the waiters were pretty friendly, too. And since this is a buffet, we ordered a second round of our favorites. The siu mai and har gow were so good, we had to have more. Even the egg tarts, which I usually don’t care for too much, were a hit with all of us.

My Final Thoughts

In the end, we were all super satisfied. The food was great, the service was good, and the price didn’t break the bank. It’s definitely a spot I’d recommend if you’re into dim sum. They have a wide selection, and everything we tried was of really fine quality. I’m already thinking about going back. If you’re in Mississauga and have a hankering for some quality dim sum, Jade Dim Sum is worth checking out. Seriously, give it a try, you won’t regret it.
