Okay, here we go! Let me tell you about my biscuit-making adventure today.

Alright, so I woke up this morning with a serious craving for some good ol’ homemade biscuits. Not those canned things, but the real deal. Flaky, buttery, and warm from the oven. I was like, “Okay, let’s do this!”
First things first, I dug out my recipe. It’s nothing fancy, just a basic one I’ve tweaked over the time. Then, I gathered all my ingredients. Here’s what I needed:
- Flour (all-purpose, of course)
- Baking powder (can’t forget that!)
- Salt (just a pinch)
- Cold butter (the colder, the better, trust me)
- Milk (whole milk is my go-to)
Next, I measured out my flour, baking powder, and salt into a big bowl. Then came the fun part: cutting in the butter. I chopped up the super-cold butter into small cubes and tossed them into the flour mixture. I used a pastry blender to cut the butter in until it looked like coarse crumbs. You can use your fingers, but your hands need to be cold! That’s the trick.
After that, I made a well in the center of the flour mixture and poured in the milk. Then, I gently stirred everything together with a fork until just combined. Don’t overmix! That’s the secret to tender biscuits. The dough will be shaggy – that’s totally fine.
I lightly floured my countertop and turned the dough out onto it. Then, I gently patted it into a rectangle about an inch thick. I folded the dough in thirds, like a letter, and then patted it out again. I did this a couple of times. This creates those beautiful flaky layers we all love. I gave that dough the business!

Finally, I used a biscuit cutter (you can use a glass if you don’t have one) to cut out my biscuits. I placed them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and brushed the tops with a little melted butter. Because why not?
I popped the baking sheet into a preheated oven (450°F/232°C) and baked them until they were golden brown. It took about 12-15 minutes. My house started smelling incredible!
And there you have it! Quick, easy homemade biscuits. They were seriously delicious. I ate mine with some butter and jam. I also had one with fried chicken! Honestly, it was pure comfort food. So worth the effort!
Tip: Don’t be afraid to experiment with different flavors! You could add cheese, herbs, or even a little bit of sugar to the dough.
Alright, gonna go eat another biscuit. Later!
