Okay, so, I wanted to try something new today, and I thought, why not give Rangoli a shot? I’ve seen those beautiful designs on the internet, and they always seemed so intricate and complicated. But I found this tutorial for a quick and easy Rangoli, and I was like, “I can totally do that!”
First things first, I gathered my materials. I didn’t have any actual Rangoli powder, but I read somewhere that you can use flour or even salt. I opted for flour because I had a big bag of it in the pantry. I also grabbed some food coloring, hoping to make it a bit more vibrant. I mixed the flour and food coloring, and the color looks pretty good!
Next, I needed a design. The tutorial I found had a few simple ones, and I picked one that looked like a flower. It was basically a bunch of circles and some lines – nothing too crazy. I tried to draw it out on a piece of paper first, just to get a feel for it. It looked a little wonky, but hey, it was my first time.
Then came the actual Rangoli making. I cleared a small space on my kitchen floor and started to sprinkle the colored flour. I tried to follow my practice drawing, but it was definitely harder than it looked. The flour kept clumping, and the lines were all over the place. I spilled a little flour outside of the circle, so I had to clean it up with my hands.
- Step 1: Make a big circle with white flour.
- Step 2: Make smaller circles inside with different colors.
- Step 3: Connect the circles with lines.
- Step 4: Add some dots around the edges.
After a bit of trial and error, I finally managed to create something that vaguely resembled the design. It wasn’t perfect, but you know what? I was pretty proud of it! It was colorful, it was unique, and it was mine. It actually turned out to be pretty fun. It was a bit messy, and my hands were covered in flour, but it was worth it.
My Final Result
It’s not going to win any awards, but it definitely added a little something special to my kitchen floor. And it taught me that even if something seems difficult at first, it’s always worth giving it a try. Who knows, maybe I’ll try a more complicated design next time!
