Okay, so I’ve been trying to get better at cooking, but I’m not exactly a master chef, you know? I mean, I can burn water. But I’ve discovered this whole world of microwave cooking that’s totally changed the game for me.
Microwave Mug Cake
First off, I tried making a chocolate mug cake. I found this recipe online that seemed super simple.
- Started by grabbing a mug – a regular coffee mug, nothing fancy.
- Dumped in some flour, sugar, cocoa powder, a pinch of baking powder, and salt. Gave it a good mix with a fork.
- Then I cracked an egg into the mug, added milk, oil, and a splash of vanilla extract. I mixed it all up until it was nice and smooth.
- I put the mug into the microwave and cooked it for about 1 and a half minutes. It puffed up like a little cake.
Pulled it out, let it cool for a minute or two, and OMG! It was like a real chocolate cake, but I made it in, like, 3 minutes total. I even topped it with some whipped cream I had in the fridge – felt super fancy.
Microwave Mac and Cheese
Next up, I gave microwave mac and cheese a shot. I mean, who doesn’t love mac and cheese, right? But I am not ready for stove things, so I tried microwave mac and cheese.
- Took a big mug and threw in some macaroni.
- Added enough water to just cover the macaroni.
- Microwaved it for about 3 minutes, then took it out and checked if the macaroni was soft.
- Then I dumped in some milk and a handful of shredded cheese – I used cheddar because that’s what I had.
- Stirred it up and microwaved for another minute.
It came out all cheesy and gooey. It wasn’t exactly like the stovetop kind, but it was pretty darn good for something I whipped up in the microwave.
Microwave Scrambled Eggs
Then, just this morning, I decided to be a bit daring and try microwave scrambled eggs. It sounded a bit weird, but I was in a hurry.
- Grabbed a small bowl and cracked two eggs into it.
- Added a splash of milk and a bit of salt and pepper.
- Whisked it up with a fork until it was all frothy.
- Put the bowl in the microwave and cooked for about 45 seconds.
- Took it out, gave it a stir, and microwaved for another 30 seconds.
And there you have it – scrambled eggs! They were fluffy and cooked through. I threw them on a piece of toast, and it was a quick and easy breakfast.
Honestly, this microwave cooking thing has been a lifesaver for me. I’m not saying I’m going to become a microwave-only chef, but it’s definitely made my life easier. And the food’s actually pretty good! If I can do it, anyone can. So, if you’re like me and not so great in the kitchen, give these microwave recipes a try. You might surprise yourself!
