Okay, so I decided to whip up some chocolate cupcakes today. Nothing fancy, just a quick and easy recipe I found. Gotta say, it turned out pretty good!

First, I gathered all my stuff. Flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, baking powder, salt – the usual suspects. Then, of course, the wet ingredients: eggs, milk, oil, and a bit of vanilla extract. I’m a sucker for vanilla, so I probably added a bit more than the recipe called for. Don’t judge!
Mixing it Up
I grabbed two bowls. In the first one, I whisked together all the dry ingredients. Made sure everything was nicely combined, no lumps of cocoa or anything. Nobody wants that.
In the second bowl, I mixed the wet stuff – eggs, milk, oil, and that extra splash of vanilla. I just used a fork, nothing fancy.
Then, the fun part! I slowly poured the wet ingredients into the dry ones, mixing with a spatula as I went. You don’t want to overmix it, just until everything is combined. A few lumps are totally okay.
Baking Time!
I preheated my oven to, like, 350 degrees. While that was warming up, I lined my cupcake tin with those cute little paper liners. Then, I scooped the batter into each liner, filling them about two-thirds full. You don’t want them overflowing.

Into the oven they went! I baked them for around 20 minutes, but I always do the toothpick test. You know, stick a toothpick in the center, and if it comes out clean, they’re done.
The Finished Product
I pulled them out of the oven and let them cool on a wire rack. Honestly, the hardest part is waiting for them to cool down enough to eat! Once they were cool enough, I whipped up a simple chocolate frosting (more cocoa powder, butter, powdered sugar, and a splash of milk). Spread that on top, and boom! Delicious, easy chocolate cupcakes.
Seriously, these were so simple to make. Even if you’re not a baking pro, you can totally handle this. And the best part? Warm, chocolatey goodness in under an hour.
