My Go-To Apple Bake Experience

Alright, so the other day I really wanted something sweet, you know? But didn’t feel like spending hours in the kitchen. I saw those apples sitting on the counter, looking a bit lonely, and thought, “Okay, let’s do something quick.” An apple bake sounded just right.

First thing, I grabbed maybe four or five of those apples. Gave them a good wash under the tap. I’m kinda lazy sometimes, so I didn’t peel all of them perfectly, left a bit of skin on some for texture. Then, I just started chopping. Didn’t worry too much about making the pieces all the same size, just rough chunks, you know? Got rid of the cores, obviously.

Tossed all those apple chunks into a bowl. Then I rummaged through the pantry. Found the sugar, sprinkled a good amount over the apples. How much? Hard to say, just eyeballed it until it looked right. Maybe half a cup? Then, gotta have cinnamon. Shook plenty of that in there too. Stirred it all up with a big spoon, just enough to get the apples coated.

Next, I found a baking dish. Nothing fancy, just a regular glass one. Didn’t even bother greasing it too much, just a quick spray. Dumped the apple mixture right in, spread it out a bit evenly.

Getting it ready for the oven:

  • Checked the apples, looked good.
  • Thought about adding butter or oats on top, but wanted to keep it super simple.
  • Decided against it, just left it as is.

Okay, oven time. I’d already turned it on earlier, maybe around 375 Fahrenheit? Popped the dish in there. Didn’t really set a timer, just kept an eye on it. Peeked through the oven door now and then.

After maybe 25, 30 minutes, the kitchen started smelling amazing. That warm, cinnamon-apple smell, you can’t beat it. Looked in again, the apples were bubbling around the edges and looked soft when I poked one gently with a fork (carefully, didn’t want to burn myself!). Decided it was done.

Pulled it out using oven mitts, set it on the counter to cool down a bit. It wasn’t the prettiest thing I’ve ever baked, looked kinda rustic, but smelled heavenly. Let it sit for maybe 10 minutes because molten apples are no joke.

Then, I just scooped some into a bowl. It was warm, sweet, soft apples with that lovely cinnamon flavor. Seriously hit the spot. Super simple, not many dishes to wash, and totally satisfied that sweet craving. That’s my kind of baking – quick, easy, and tasty.
