Okay, so I’ve been on this mission to find the best dim sum in Hong Kong. I mean, it’s Hong Kong, right? Dim sum is practically a religion here. So, naturally, I had to go on a quest to find the best.
First, I started asking around. I talked to everyone – friends, colleagues, even the guy at the corner store. You wouldn’t believe the number of opinions I got. Everyone has their own favorite, but a few names kept popping up.
Then, I did a lot of online research and read some blogs. These resources gave me an idea of what to expect in terms of pricing and variety, there are many different kinds of dim sum including dumplings, buns, rolls and noodles.
After collecting enough information, I started hitting up these places one by one. I went to the big names, the fancy restaurants that everyone talks about. They are really famous for their traditional techniques and premium ingredients like their X.O. sauce. I tried the classic dishes like har gow and siu mai, and they were amazing. I have to say it was really good.
But it wasn’t just the famous spots that I went to. I also explored some smaller, local joints. These places were more about the authentic, everyday dim sum experience. These places are more low-key but had some seriously delicious stuff.
I took notes at every place I visited. I jotted down what I liked, what I didn’t, the prices, the service, everything. It wasn’t just about the food, but the whole experience. Did the place feel welcoming? Were the staff friendly? Was it clean and comfortable?
After all that eating and exploring, I finally came to a conclusion. I found some truly amazing dim sum spots, both high-end and local. It’s hard to pick just one, but I’ve narrowed it down to a few favorites that I think are really special.
-
T’ang Court: The food was really good and the place was super fancy. Perfect for a special occasion.
-
A Local Joint in Mong Kok: I can’t remember the name, but it was a small place with amazing har gow. It was cheap and cheerful.
