Alright, alright, let’s talk about gettin’ some Chinese food, the kind you can bring home or they bring to ya. You know, when you’re too tired to cook, or just plain don’t feel like it.
First thing’s first, you gotta find a good place. I ain’t talkin’ ’bout fancy, just good, honest food. Now, I hear tell there’s a bunch of places around here, places like Chow To Go, Mandarin Villa Express, and that Yen Du place. Folks seem to like ’em, always talkin’ ’bout how good the food is.
And then there’s China Village over on Yosemite Street. I seen pictures, looks clean enough. They got a menu, says so right there. And they got vegetarian stuff too, if that’s your thing. Me? I like my meat, but to each their own, I always say.
- Now, some places, they don’t deliver all the time. Like Dave Wongs, they only do it certain days, certain times. You gotta pay attention, or you’ll be sittin’ there hungry, waitin’ for food that ain’t comin’.
- And speakin’ of delivery, seems like there’s a lot of places that do it. Peking Restaurant, New Shanghai, Prosperity Szechuan Cuisine, Oriental Chef… The list goes on and on. Makes it hard to choose sometimes, too many choices, you know?
But it ain’t just about delivery, sometimes it’s good to go get it yourself. Stretch your legs, see the sights. Most of these places, they let you eat there too, if you want. But me? I like takin’ it home, puttin’ on my comfy slippers, and eatin’ in front of the TV. That’s livin’, I tell ya.
And the food? Well, it’s Chinese, what more can I say? Lots of different dishes, some I can’t even pronounce. But it’s good, most of the time. Just gotta watch out, some of it’s got too much salt, too much sugar, too much oil. You know, like that American-Chinese stuff. It’s tasty, but not always the healthiest. I try to stick to the real stuff, the kind they eat over in China.
Speaking of China, I heard tell they got food delivery down to a science over there. Lots of companies, bringin’ food right to your door. Sounds convenient, don’t it? Wish we had more of that around here. But then again, sometimes it’s nice to get out of the house, even if it’s just to pick up some chow mein.
Then there’s this China Palace place out on West Lane. I ain’t been there myself, but I heard they got good seafood. And they got a phone number, if you wanna call. Always good to have a phone number, saves you a trip if they ain’t got what you want.
So, there you have it. My two cents on gettin’ Chinese food. Find a good place, decide if you want it delivered or if you wanna go get it yourself, and then enjoy. It ain’t rocket science, just good food for good folks. And don’t forget to try different places, you never know when you’ll find a new favorite. And remember, if the food’s too greasy, just soak it up with some of that white rice. That’s what I always do. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I think I hear my stomach rumblin’. Time to order some takeout!
Oh, and one more thing. Always check the reviews before you order. Folks online, they like to talk, and they’ll tell you if a place is good or not. Just take it with a grain of salt, you know? Some people, they complain about everything. But if a lot of folks are sayin’ a place is bad, well, it’s probably bad. And if they sayin’ it’s good, then it’s probably worth a try. That’s my philosophy anyway. Keeps me from wastin’ my money on bad food.
Now, I’m really done. Go get yourself some Chinese food! You deserve it.
