Hey everyone, so today I tried making some guacamole, and let me tell you, it was way easier than I expected! I’ve always loved guacamole but figured it was some complicated thing to make. Turns out, it’s just a few simple steps.
First, I grabbed a couple of ripe avocados. You know, the ones that are kinda soft when you squeeze ’em? I sliced those bad boys in half, but the big seed inside, it’s like a stone in size, so I just removed them carefully.
Next, I scooped out all that green goodness into a bowl. Then came the fun part – mashing! I just used a fork and mashed it all up until it was the consistency I wanted. Some people like it chunky, some like it smooth. I went somewhere in the middle.
After that, I chopped up some red onion, a tomato, and some cilantro. If you’re not a fan of cilantro, I guess you could leave it out, but it really does add something special. Oh, and I diced up a jalapeño too, ’cause I like a little heat in my guac. Just remember to take out the seeds if you don’t want it too spicy.
Then, I tossed all those chopped veggies into the bowl with the mashed avocado. A good squeeze of lime juice went in next, which helps keep the avocado from turning brown, and adds a nice tang. And of course, I sprinkled in some salt and pepper. I saw some people use cumin too, but I didn’t have any on hand. Maybe next time.
Finally, I gave it all a good mix, making sure everything was evenly combined. And that was it! Seriously, it took me like, 5 minutes to make.
- Grab some ripe avocados, cut them open, and take out the big seeds.
- Scoop out the green stuff and mash it up in a bowl.
- Chop up some onion, tomato, cilantro, and jalapeño (if you like it spicy).
- Throw all that into the bowl with the avocado.
- Add some lime juice, salt, and pepper.
- Mix it all together, and boom – you’ve got guacamole!
I served it up with some tortilla chips, and it was a hit with the family. I’m definitely making this again. It’s perfect for parties, or just a snack when you’re craving something tasty and healthy. So give it a try, you will not be disappointed! Fresh homemade guacamole is way better than what you get at the store.
So much easier to make than I thought.
I will definitely be making this again. It is the perfect thing to take to a potluck or serve as a snack during movie night.
