So, I spotted this dim sum food truck parked near the park the other day. Never really tried dim sum from a truck before, always went to the usual sit-down places.

Getting Started
Decided to give it a go. Walked up to the window. They had pictures plastered all over the side, showing all the different kinds they offered. Looked like a decent variety, you know, the usual suspects.
- Siu Mai (Pork Dumplings)
- Har Gow (Shrimp Dumplings)
- Char Siu Bao (BBQ Pork Buns)
- Lo Mai Gai (Sticky Rice in Lotus Leaf)
It wasn’t like the restaurants where they push carts around. Here, you just tell the person inside what you want, and they grab it for you. Felt a bit less chaotic, actually.
Picking the Food
I pointed at a few things. Got myself some siu mai, definitely needed those. Added some har gow because shrimp dumplings are a must. Then grabbed a baked char siu bao. The good thing about dim sum is the small portions, means you can grab a mix without getting stuffed on one thing.
Paid up, wasn’t too expensive. They packed it all into a takeaway container pretty quick. Steam was coming off it, smelled good.
Eating and Thoughts
Found a bench nearby to eat. Opened the box. Looked decent enough. The siu mai was hot and pretty flavorful. The har gow wrapper was maybe a tiny bit thick compared to some places, but the shrimp inside was nice.

You really can’t just wolf these down in one bite, gotta take your time. Especially stuff like dumplings, let them cool off a bit first. The pork bun was nice and warm, good filling.
Overall, it was a pretty solid experience. Quick, convenient, and satisfied the craving. Different from the whole restaurant deal, but good for a fast bite. Made me think how they manage it all in a truck. Maybe some stuff is prepped or even frozen, like how you can buy restaurant dim sum frozen now to make at home? Hard to tell, but what I got tasted fresh enough. Yeah, not bad for a food truck find.
