I’ve gotta tell you about this dim sum place I tried at the Hong Kong airport. Man, I had some time to kill before my flight, and my stomach was rumbling. I figured, “Hey, I’m in Hong Kong, I gotta get some dim sum before I leave, right?”

So, I started wandering around the airport. It’s huge, by the way, with all these shops and restaurants in Terminal 1’s SkyMart and Terminal 2’s SkyPlaza. I was trying to find a good place to eat. Luckily, I remembered that the airport has free WiFi, so I did a quick search on my phone, looked up “best dim sum at Hong Kong airport.”

  • First, I found this spot called Duddell’s. Apparently, it’s got a Michelin star, which sounded pretty fancy. They serve everything, even roasted goose, and are open 24/7. But, it also looked a bit too upscale for a quick airport meal. I wanted something more casual.
  • Then, I stumbled upon some people online talking about Maxim’s. That sounded familiar. I think I’ve been to one of their places in the city before. But the reviews were mixed, so I wasn’t too sure.
  • There was another suggestion for a place called Crystal Jade, which is known for its Chinese ramen and Xiao’long’bao. I do love me some good soup dumplings, but I was really craving traditional dim sum this time.

I kept searching and saw a lot of people saying that one of the most popular local delicacies is dim sum, no big surprise there. A lot of reviews mentioned trying the siu mai, which are those tasty steamed dumplings with pork and shrimp. My mouth was starting to water just thinking about it.

Finally, I found a place that looked perfect. I wish I could remember the name, but it was a little dim sum spot tucked away somewhere in the departures hall. It wasn’t too crowded, and the menu had all the classics. I ordered a bunch of stuff: har gow, siu mai, some char siu bao, and even some of those rice noodle rolls.

Let me tell you, it was delicious! Especially the rice noodles with roasted pork. Seriously, the best I’ve ever had. It was so good. I sat there, stuffing my face, and just enjoying the last bit of Hong Kong before my flight. I even had a view. It was the perfect way to end my trip.

Oh, and one more thing! The airport has these power outlets everywhere, which is super handy. But they only take Hong Kong or English plugs, so make sure you have an adapter if you need to charge your phone or laptop.
