Okay, so today I’m gonna talk about my little adventure trying to find gluten-free food in Delhi. It’s not as easy as you might think, but it’s totally doable. And trust me, the food is worth the hunt!

I started my day with a bit of research online. I found a few places that people recommended, like Burma Burma and Greenr Cafe. So, first thing I did was head to Burma Burma. I was craving some good food, and let me tell you, I was not disappointed. I checked out their menu, and guess what? They had a ton of gluten-free stuff, and it was all vegetarian too! I tried their signature Laphet Thoke, which is like a tea leaf salad. I mean, that sounds interesting, right? And it tasted even better than it sounds!

Next, I remembered reading something about a place called The Celiac Store. The name was pretty straightforward, so I figured they’d have something for me. I went over to Defence Colony. It wasn’t too hard to find, behind Sagar Ratna. I found a few gluten-free snacks there, and some ingredients to cook with. It was like a safe place for people like me! I stocked up on some essentials, because, you know, a girl’s gotta eat.

Later in the day, I felt like going somewhere fancy, you know what i mean? I had heard good things about Fab Cafe in Vasant Kunj. So, I made my way there. I got myself a nice meal there, and it was worth the travel. It’s a bit on the pricey side, but hey, sometimes you gotta treat yourself, am I right?

During the day, I also found out that there are tons of other places like Smoke House Deli, AKU’S – The Brrgrr Co., Caffe Tonino, and more. I haven’t been to all of them yet, but they’re on my list. It’s like a treasure hunt, but with food!

What i learned

You know what surprised me the most? Indian cooking uses a lot of naturally gluten-free flours. Like, who knew? I learned about flours like bajra, maize, ragi, amaranth, and buckwheat. It’s like a whole new world of cooking opened up to me. I always thought avoiding gluten meant missing out, but in Delhi, it’s more like discovering new flavors.
