Alright, folks, let’s talk about my little adventure trying to find some decent gluten-free grub in Mumbai. You know, it’s not always easy finding places that cater to those of us who gotta avoid gluten. But, I’m always up for a challenge, and I figured, how hard could it be in a big city like Mumbai?
Starting the Search
So, first thing I did was hit up the internet, of course. Typed in “gluten-free restaurants in Mumbai” and started browsing. I saw a few names pop up like “Yogisattva Cafe” and “Seeds of Life.” They sounded promising, so I jotted them down. Also, I noticed a bunch of mentions of reviews on some travel websites, so I figured those could be handy, too.
Digging Deeper
Next, I started looking into these places a bit more. Checked out their menus online, looked at some photos of the food, you know, the usual stuff. I wanted to make sure they actually had gluten-free options and not just one or two things thrown on the menu as an afterthought. Some places looked pretty good, with a decent selection of gluten-free dishes.
Making Some Calls
After narrowing it down a bit, I decided to give a few places a call. I wanted to double-check about their gluten-free stuff, ask about how they handle cross-contamination, that kind of thing. You can never be too careful, right? The people I talked to were generally helpful and seemed to know what they were talking about.
Checking it out
- Yogisattva Cafe: I went to this cafe first. I found the cafe on the 7th floor of some building. The food was alright, not bad.
- Bastian, Bandra: This was another spot on my list. I asked around, and people told me that it is good. So I give it a try.
- Bombay Salad Co.: A friend recommended this one. Sounded good, especially if you’re into salads. I love salad. I ordered a big bowl of it. Yummy!
- Seeds Of Life – Bandra: This was another place I had heard good things about. The food is great. I loved the dessert here.
Wrapping Up
All in all, it wasn’t a bad experience. I found a few spots where I could actually enjoy a meal without worrying about getting sick. It took a bit of research and some phone calls, but hey, that’s just part of the gluten-free life, I guess. I’m definitely gonna check out some more places in Mumbai when I have the time. There’s gotta be more gluten-free gems hidden around this city somewhere!
