Okay, so I’ve been trying to eat gluten-free for a while now, and let me tell you, it’s a struggle, especially when you’re traveling. But I was in Bangalore recently, and I was determined to find some good gluten-free options.
I started my journey by doing some good old-fashioned internet research. I found a bunch of articles and reviews about gluten-free restaurants in Bangalore on Tripadvisor. This gave me a good starting point, but you know how it is with online reviews – you gotta take them with a grain of salt, right?
The first thing I noticed was that Thai food seemed to be a safe bet. Apparently, it’s naturally gluten-free most of the time, you just gotta watch out for the sauces. Indian and Japanese food, on the other hand, seemed a bit trickier because of all the marinades and stuff. It also mentioned that some menus use “NGCI” to indicate gluten-free items, which was helpful to know.
I decided to check out a few places that were highly recommended. One of them was “Baked In BLR” in the Sadashiva Nagar area. I saw that they had a few good reviews, so I figured it was worth a shot.
- Visited Carrots Cloud Kitchen.
- Checked out Go Native Lavelle Road.
- Explored Sant Spa Cuisine in Indiranagar.
Then there were places like Sant Spa Cuisine, Foo, Radix Nutritive, Cafe Graze, Toscano Wine Connection, and Dakshin ITC Windsor. I tried to visit as many as I could, just to see what they had to offer. Each place had its own vibe and menu, but they all had at least a few gluten-free options, which was great.
Overall, I found that Bangalore actually has a decent number of gluten-free options, you just have to know where to look. It’s not perfect, and you still have to be careful and ask the right questions, but it’s definitely doable. I managed to eat pretty well during my trip without feeling like I was missing out too much. It took a bit of effort, but it was totally worth it in the end.
So yeah, that’s my experience with finding gluten-free food in Bangalore. It wasn’t always easy, but I made it work, and I’m pretty happy with how it turned out. If you’re ever in Bangalore and need gluten-free options, don’t worry, there are definitely places you can go!
