Today, I want to talk about my recent dim sum adventure at Fu San. If you’re a dim sum lover like me, you’ve probably heard of this place. It’s pretty famous in Ipoh.

So, I woke up early one morning and decided, “You know what? I’m going to Fu San for some dim sum.” I gathered a couple of my friends who are also big foodies, and we headed over there. It’s on Jalan Leong Sin Nam if you’re wondering where to find it.
First thing I noticed, this place is huge! It’s got two levels and plenty of seating. But even with all that space, it was still packed. We managed to find a table after a bit of a wait, but trust me, it was worth it.
Now, here’s the fun part. Instead of ordering from a menu, they bring the food around on carts. You just point at what you want, and they give it to you. I love this because you get to see everything before you choose. We started with some classics like siu mai and har gow, and they were delicious. The siu mai was juicy, and the har gow skin was perfectly thin and translucent.
- Tried their fried beancurd prawn rolls – crispy and flavorful.
- Sampled the fried carrot cake – a little different from what I’m used to, but still good.
- Ordered some steamed items too, like the fluffy char siu bao.
We ended up ordering a ton of food because everything looked so tempting. I think we tried at least ten different dishes. Some were hits, some were just okay, but overall, the food was pretty solid. Oh, and the place is clean. That’s always a plus when you’re eating out.
My Final Thoughts
If you’re planning to go, remember that it can get crowded. You might need to wait a little for a table, especially during peak hours. And if you want to try a good variety of dishes, it’s a good idea to go with a few people. That way, you can order more and share everything.

So, would I go back to Fu San? Absolutely! It’s a great spot for a dim sum feast with friends or family. The food is tasty, the atmosphere is lively, and it’s just a fun experience overall. Just be prepared to eat a lot!
