Next, grabbed a frying pan. Put in a good glug of olive oil. Not shy with it. Turned the heat on low, medium-low. Didn’t want things burning. Tossed in the sliced garlic. Let it sizzle gently. You gotta watch it, garlic burns fast. Just wanted it nice and golden, smelling amazing. Added the red pepper flakes. Stirred it all around. The kitchen started smelling really good at this point.

Important step! Just before the pasta timer went off, I scooped out a mug full of that starchy pasta water. Keep this! It’s like liquid gold, helps make the sauce stick later.

Timer buzzed. Drained the pasta quick. Didn’t rinse it or anything. Dumped it straight from the colander into the frying pan with the garlic and oil. Tossed everything together really well. Added a splash of that pasta water I saved. Tossed it again. The water helps make it creamy, kinda. Added some black pepper, tasted it. Needed a tiny bit more salt. Perfect.

The Payoff

Slid the whole pan onto a plate. Didn’t even bother with fancy serving. Just piled it high. Sat down and dug in. Hot, garlicky, slightly spicy, perfectly cooked pasta. Seriously hit the spot. From walking in the door to eating? Maybe 15 minutes, tops.

It’s not gourmet, obviously. But when you need something quick, easy, and genuinely satisfying? Simple stuff like this is the absolute best. Beats waiting around for a delivery driver any day of the week.
