Hey everyone, it’s that time of year again! Halloween is just around the corner, and I decided to throw a spooky party. The most important part? The food, of course! I wanted to make some fun and creepy treats, so I started brainstorming and searching for ideas. I ended up making a bunch of stuff, and I think it turned out pretty well!
Spooky Chocolate Apple Pops
First, I grabbed some apples. You know, the usual kind. I washed them real good and dried them off. Then, I shoved some sticks into them – you know, like those caramel apple sticks. Next, I melted a big bowl of chocolate. I used dark chocolate because it looks spookier, but milk chocolate works too. I dipped each apple into the melted chocolate, making sure it was all covered. Before the chocolate set, I sprinkled some orange and black sprinkles on them. Some, I even drizzled with white chocolate to make them look like mummies. They looked pretty cool, if I do say so myself. They went into the fridge to harden.
Savory Bites
- I also made some “bloody” finger foods. I took some sausages and sliced off the ends to make them look like severed fingers. Then, I added a bit of ketchup at the end for the “blood”.
- I also whipped up some “eyeball” meatballs. I used regular meatball mix, but I stuck a sliced olive on each one to make it look like an eye.
- For a creepy dip, I mixed some guacamole with black food coloring to make it look like a murky swamp. I served it with some tortilla chips. It was so easy.
Sweet Treats
Besides the apple pops, I baked some cookies. I used a simple sugar cookie recipe and cut them into spooky shapes like ghosts, bats, and pumpkins. After they cooled, I decorated them with colored icing. I let my kids help with this part, and they had a blast. We also made some “graveyard pudding cups.” I layered chocolate pudding with crushed Oreo cookies to look like dirt. Then, I stuck some gummy worms in them and added a Milano cookie as a tombstone. Everyone loved it.
Setting up the table was the best part. I used a black tablecloth and scattered some fake spiderwebs around. I put the food out on different platters and added some spooky decorations like plastic spiders and skulls. The “bloody” finger sausages and “eyeball” meatballs were a big hit. The kids loved the chocolate apple pops and the graveyard pudding cups. All in all, the party was a success! I hope you guys will get some ideas if you’re planning your own Halloween party. Happy haunting!
