Dim Sum Prices: What You Need to Know Before You Go

Okay, so I went out for dim sum the other day and I gotta say, I was a bit surprised by the prices. I mean, I know things have been getting more expensive lately, but it still kind of took me by surprise.

Dim Sum Prices: What You Need to Know Before You Go

First off, I did my usual thing and tried to spot a trolley cart, but no luck. It’s like they’ve disappeared or something! Maybe they just weren’t running them at that time, I don’t know.

Anyway, I got talking to some buddies of mine who work in restaurants, and they were telling me how their costs have gone through the roof, like 15-40% higher. It’s crazy! So, I guess that explains some of the price increases I saw. But, still, it made me think twice about how often I can go out for dim sum now.

Then I remembered someone mentioned this place called Western Lake. They said the prices there are pretty reasonable, and the food is delicious with big portions. Apparently, you gotta make reservations, though, because it’s a popular spot. I made a note to check it out next time, maybe that will be a more budget-friendly option.

I was also thinking about how you can eat dim sum at any time, like breakfast, dinner, or brunch. It’s so versatile! And when you get that craving, you just gotta have it, right?

When I did finally sit down, I noticed the table setting. They gave each of us a bowl, a plate, a teacup, a spoon, and chopsticks. Pretty standard stuff. I always remember that the bowl is for eating out of, not the plate, which is more for holding your food, I made that mistake once. It is kind of embarrassing.

Dim Sum Prices: What You Need to Know Before You Go
  • The prices at dim sum restaurants have really gone up.
  • My friends in the restaurant industry say their costs are way higher.
  • Western Lake might be a good option for more affordable dim sum.
  • Dim sum is great because you can eat it anytime.
  • Don’t forget the bowl is for eating out of!

Overall, it was a good dim sum experience, but the prices definitely made me think. I’ll probably still go out for it occasionally, but I might have to start looking for some more affordable options or maybe try making some dim sum dishes at home. That could be a fun project.

Anyway, that’s my little dim sum story. Just thought I’d share my experience and see if anyone else has noticed the same thing with the prices.
