Okay, guys, let’s talk about my dim sum adventure in Calgary. It all started with a craving, a serious one. I woke up one morning and all I could think about was delicious, steaming hot dim sum. So, I did what any reasonable person would do – I started researching.
First things first, I gotta find a place, right? I hopped online and started searching for “best dim sum Calgary”. I mean, who wouldn’t? You gotta go for the best. There are a bunch of places, and there are several places mentioned repeatedly, such as AROMA Dim Sum, Golden Jade Palace, and Silver Dragon Restaurant. One thing I noticed is that Silver Dragon has been around for over 50 years. That’s a long time! It must be doing something right, that is amazing.
Then I turned to Yelp for some real talk, you know, the unfiltered opinions of people who’ve actually been there. Reading through the reviews, I’m getting a feel for what each place is like. Some folks are all about the authentic, traditional experience, others are looking for something a bit more modern. Everyone’s got their favorites, and let me tell you, the comments can get pretty passionate. After reading a bunch of comments, I finally decided to give one place a try.
I gathered a few friends who were also dim sum lovers, and we headed out. This time, we decided to try Forbidden City Dim Sum & Seafood Restaurant. Walking in, the place was bustling, always a good sign. We got seated, and the carts started rolling in. Oh boy, the carts! It’s like a parade of deliciousness. We grabbed all the classics – har gow, siu mai, BBQ pork buns. You name it, we probably got it. And let me tell you, it was good. Really good.
We stuffed ourselves silly, laughed a lot, and just enjoyed the whole experience. I really love it, and my friend never had dim sum before, this time he also enjoyed the food. There’s something special about sharing dim sum with friends. It’s more than just a meal; it’s a social event.
Calgary’s dim sum scene is pretty solid. We only tried one place this time, but I’m already planning my next dim sum outing. I’ve got my eye on a few other spots, especially that Silver Dragon place with the long history. Maybe next time I went there, I can find some surprises. It’s a journey, you know? A delicious, dumpling-filled journey. And I’m here for it.
