Okay, here is my blog post about my dim sum breakfast experience in Hong Kong:
So, I finally made it to Hong Kong, a place I’ve always dreamed of visiting. And you know what? The first thing on my to-do list was to stuff myself with some authentic dim sum. I mean, who comes to Hong Kong and doesn’t eat dim sum, right?
I woke up super early, like 6 AM early, because I heard the best dim sum places get packed quickly. I got ready and left the hotel and hopped on the MTR, their subway system. Super convenient, by the way. I made my way to this place called “Lung Dim Sum” in Kowloon that a friend recommended. It wasn’t too hard to find, and the place was already bustling when I arrived. I guess I wasn’t the only one with this idea.
I walked in, and the smell of steamed buns and various other goodies just hit me. I was given a number and had to wait for about 20 minutes, but it was worth it. I was finally seated, and a friendly lady came by with a cart full of different dishes.
I started pointing at things that looked good, and my table quickly filled up. I got the classic har gow (shrimp dumplings), siu mai (pork dumplings), char siu bao (barbecue pork buns), and a few other things that I can’t even remember the names of, but they all looked delicious. I also ordered a pot of tea because, you know, that’s how it’s done.
- Har Gow: The shrimp dumplings were amazing. The skin was thin and translucent, and the shrimp inside were plump and juicy.
- Siu Mai: The pork dumplings were just as good. They were flavorful and had a nice texture.
- Char Siu Bao: The barbecue pork buns were fluffy and slightly sweet, and the filling was savory and delicious. I could have eaten a dozen of these.
I ate and ate until I thought I was going to burst. I paid for my meal, which was surprisingly affordable for all the food I ordered. I stumbled out of the restaurant, completely satisfied and ready to explore the rest of what Hong Kong has to offer. I would tell you that my first dim sum experience in Hong Kong was a complete success!
I walked a little bit, I needed to digest all that food. Then, I took some photos of the streets and the buildings. Finally, I decided to call it a day and returned to my hotel. I fell asleep right away, dreaming of dumplings. What a day!
