Okay, so today I’m gonna spill the beans on my little Instagram side hustle: dim sum captions. Yeah, sounds kinda random, right? But trust me, there’s a story.
It all started last year. I was scrolling through Insta, like you do, and noticed everyone was posting these bomb dim sum pics. But the captions? They were always the same old boring stuff: “Food coma,” “Yummy,” “Can’t get enough.” I was like, “Come on, people! Dim sum deserves better!”

Then came the brainstorming. I grabbed a notebook – yeah, an actual paper notebook, I’m old school like that – and started jotting down everything that came to mind when I thought about dim sum. Funny puns, relatable feelings, little stories… anything and everything.
Here’s where the real work began. I started crafting captions, one by one. I’d post a pic of a juicy soup dumpling and write something like, “Soup-er excited for this! 🥟” Corny? Maybe. But people ate it up! (Pun intended.) Or I’d show off a plate of har gow and say, “Shrimply the best dim sum in town! 🍤” You get the idea.
To keep things fresh, I started categorizing my captions. I had categories like:

Then I found a few of sites with captions already written out, but I didn’t copy them. No way! Instead I would re-write them or use them as inspiration to write my own better caption.
And guess what? It worked! My followers started asking me where I got my captions. They started using them themselves! It was so cool to see my little hobby take off.
The Result: I became known as the “Dim Sum Caption Queen” on my corner of Instagram. It’s nothing crazy, but it’s fun, and it keeps my creative juices flowing. Plus, I get to eat a lot of dim sum. What’s not to love?
