Okay, so yesterday I decided to hit up Crystal Mall for some dim sum. I’d heard good things, but hadn’t actually been there myself to eat, so I figured, why not?

First off, finding the place. Crystal Mall is a bit of a maze, honestly. I wandered around for a good 10 minutes, going up and down escalators, before I finally spotted the restaurant. It wasn’t super obvious, tucked away in a corner.

Once I got inside, it was pretty busy, which is usually a good sign, right? I managed to snag a table after a short wait. The usual dim sum setup – carts rolling around with all sorts of goodies. I’m not gonna lie, I was a little overwhelmed at first.

My Dim Sum Choices

I started with the classics, of course:

  • Har Gow (Shrimp Dumplings): These were pretty solid. The shrimp were plump and juicy, and the wrapper was nice and thin.
  • Siu Mai (Pork Dumplings): Always a favorite. These were flavorful and had a good texture.
  • Char Siu Bao (BBQ Pork Buns): The bun was soft and fluffy, and the filling was sweet and savory. Standard stuff, done well.

Then I decided to be a little more adventurous:

  • Chicken Feet: don’t be scared! I love the taste.
  • Beef Tripe: chew and delicious.

I am a big fan of them.

I ended up ordering way too much food, as usual. I always get carried away with dim sum. But hey, leftovers are never a bad thing.

Overall, it was a good experience. The food was tasty, the service was quick (those cart ladies are on it!), and the price was reasonable. I’d definitely go back, though maybe I’ll try to navigate the mall a little better next time.
