So, the other day, I was really in the mood for some dim sum. You know how it is, sometimes you just get that craving, right? Well, a buddy of mine told me about this place, Crystal Jade, and how they supposedly have this awesome new menu. He’s a regular there, always raving about their food, so I thought, why not give it a shot?
I got myself over to Crystal Jade. It’s a pretty nice-looking place, comfortable and all. I snagged a menu and started flipping through. Lots of the usual suspects on there, but also some new stuff that caught my eye. They even have some plant-based options now, which is pretty cool, although I wasn’t feeling that adventurous this time. I’m a simple guy after all.
Dumplings
- Shrimp Dumplings: These were solid. Nice, plump shrimp inside, and the wrappers were just the right thickness.
- Pork & Chive Dumplings: Another classic, and they did it well. Good flavor, and they weren’t stingy with the filling.
Other Bites
- BBQ Pork Buns: Okay, these were seriously good. The buns were soft and fluffy, and the barbecue pork filling was sweet and savory. I could have eaten a whole plate of these.
- Spring Rolls: Crispy, not too greasy, and packed with veggies and stuff. A good choice if you want something a little lighter.
I ended up ordering a bunch of different things, just wanted to try a bit of everything. They have those classic shrimp dumplings, some pork and chive ones, and I had to get the BBQ pork buns. I noticed they had some soups that looked pretty tempting on the menu – they call them “nourishing soups”. The service was decent, nothing to complain about. The food came out pretty fast, all hot and steamy.
Gotta say, my friend was right. The dim sum at Crystal Jade is pretty darn good. I was stuffed by the end of it, but it was totally worth it. I’ll definitely be going back there, maybe next time I’ll try those nourishing soups or their plant-based choices.
