So, the other day, I was craving some dim sum, and my buddy suggested we hit up this spot at the Concorde Hotel in KL. I’d heard some chatter about it, so I thought, why not? We went there to check it out.
We got there, and the place is on the ground floor of the hotel. Looked pretty fancy from the outside, all nice and proper. Walking in, the vibe was upscale, you know, the kind of place where you feel like you should be on your best behavior.
We sat down, and a waiter came over with the menu. A decent variety of dim sum, all the classics and a few things I hadn’t tried before. We ordered a bunch of stuff – har gow, siew mai, char siew bao, the usual suspects. Also threw in some chee cheong fun and a couple of those egg tart things for good measure.
While we were waiting, I took a good look around. The place was buzzing, lots of folks clearly enjoying their meals. Mostly families and some business types. The decor was pretty standard for a Chinese restaurant in a hotel, nothing too crazy.
The food started arriving, and let me tell you, it did not disappoint. Everything was piping hot and fresh.
- The har gow, those shrimp dumplings, were juicy and packed with flavor.
- The siew mai, pork and shrimp, were just as good.
- The char siew bao, those fluffy buns with the sweet and savory pork filling, were on point.
We went through everything pretty quickly. Even the chee cheong fun, which I’m not always a huge fan of, was surprisingly delicious. And those egg tarts? A perfect way to end the meal, flaky crust, creamy filling, just the right amount of sweetness.
After we paid, we were both stuffed and satisfied. It’s a bit pricier than your average dim sum joint, but honestly, the quality makes up for it. If you’re looking for a nice place to enjoy some quality dim sum, this place at the Concorde Hotel is definitely worth checking out.
My conclusion
We can definitely say that it is a really good place for having dim sum, especially if you are a big fan of it!
