Okay, here is my sharing about the “dim sum buffet london” experience:
So, I’ve been craving some good dim sum for ages, and I finally decided to treat myself to a dim sum buffet in London. I heard that Chinatown is the place to go for authentic Chinese food, so I started my adventure there.
First off, I did a bit of research online to see which places were worth checking out. I found this spot called Young Cheng Buffet right in the heart of Chinatown. The reviews were pretty decent, and it sounded like they had a good selection. Besides, I also noticed some other places that might be worth a try, like Wong Kei Restaurant and New Aroma Chinese Restaurant. But, Young Cheng Buffet was my first target.
I hopped on the tube and made my way to Chinatown. When I got there, the atmosphere was buzzing. So many restaurants and people! I found Young Cheng Buffet easily enough, and I have to say, it looked pretty inviting from the outside.
Once I got inside, the place was packed, but the staff were quick to find me a table. I grabbed a plate and started exploring the buffet. Man, they had everything! There were so many types of dim sum, I didn’t even know where to begin. I loaded up my plate with some classics like har gow, siu mai, and char siu bao. They also had some other dishes that caught my eye, like an entire wok-baked lobster and Chongqing chili chicken. I couldn’t resist trying a bit of everything.
- First round: Har gow, siu mai, char siu bao – all the classics.
- Second round: Wok-baked lobster, Chongqing chili chicken, and some more dim sum.
- Third round: I was getting full, but I had to try their roasted Cantonese char siu.
I have to say, the food was pretty good. The dim sum were fresh and tasty, and the lobster was a nice surprise. The chili chicken was spicy but delicious. I definitely got my money’s worth. I mean, I ate until I was completely stuffed!
After I finished eating, I decided to walk around Chinatown a bit more to digest. I saw a few other places that looked interesting, like Joy King Lau and Golden Dragon. I made a mental note to check them out next time. Also, I spotted Yauatcha and Ping Pong, which seemed a bit fancier, maybe good for a special occasion.
Final Thoughts
Overall, it was a great experience. I got to satisfy my dim sum craving and tried some other tasty dishes too. Chinatown is definitely the place to be for authentic Chinese food in London. I’ll definitely be back to explore more of the dim sum scene. Maybe next time I’ll hit up those other spots I saw. It’s a tough job, but someone’s gotta do it, right?
