Okay, so I’ve been craving dim sum lately, like, really craving it. And everyone keeps talking about this place in Arcadia, so I figured, why not? Let’s do this “dim sum arcadia” thing.

First things first, I googled “best dim sum arcadia”. I mean, you gotta start somewhere, right? A bunch of names popped up, lots of reviews, pictures of yummy-looking dumplings… it was a bit overwhelming, to be honest.
I ended up picking a place that had consistently good reviews, and looked, I guess, “authentic” enough – whatever that means. I’m no dim sum expert, I just know what I like (and what I don’t!).
Saturday morning, I dragged myself out of bed, grabbed a friend (misery loves company, and dim sum is better with friends!), and drove over to Arcadia. It’s a bit of a trek, but hey, good food is worth it, right?
We got to the restaurant, and whoa, the line was out the door. Seriously. I almost turned around, but my friend was already committed, and my stomach was rumbling like a monster truck rally. So, we waited. And waited. And waited some more.
The Waiting Game
- Pro tip: Go early. Like, really early. Or be prepared to wait.
- Another pro tip: Bring a snack. Seriously, I was starving.
- Yet another pro tip: People-watch. It’s surprisingly entertaining.
Finally, after what felt like an eternity, we got a table. It was chaotic, loud, and packed, but in a good way. Like, a bustling, happy, dim-sum-filled way.

We grabbed a menu, and honestly, I felt a little lost. There were so many options! Luckily, my friend had been here before, so she guided me through the must-haves: har gow (shrimp dumplings), siu mai (pork dumplings), char siu bao (barbecue pork buns)… the classics, you know?
The food started arriving, and oh my goodness, it was worth the wait. Everything was so fresh, so flavorful, so… perfect. The har gow were plump and juicy, the siu mai were savory and delicious, and the char siu bao were fluffy and sweet. We ordered more, and more, and more. We basically rolled out of there.
So, the verdict? “Dim sum arcadia” is definitely a thing, and it’s definitely worth experiencing. Just be prepared for a bit of an adventure, and maybe wear stretchy pants.
