Alright, so yesterday I hit up this place called Dim Sum Express in Andheri West. Heard some good things, so I thought, why not give it a shot?
First things first, finding the place wasn’t exactly a walk in the park. It’s tucked away in one of those lanes you’d easily miss if you weren’t paying attention. Finally spotted it, though – small, kinda cozy-looking joint.
Walked in, and the smell of all those dumplings and buns just hits you. I was starving, so that was a good start. Place was pretty busy, a mix of families and office folks grabbing a quick bite.
Scanned the menu, which, honestly, was a bit overwhelming. So many choices! I ended up going for a mix of stuff. Started with the classic Chicken Sui Mai. Can’t go wrong with that, right?
Then I ordered some Pan Fried Noodles, seemed interesting. Oh, and I saw they had a special on Shrimp Har Gao, so I figured I’d try those too.
The Sui Mai came out first. Decent, not the best I’ve ever had, but definitely hit the spot. Juicy, flavorful, the usual. Dipped it in some chili sauce, and it was gone in seconds.
Next up were the Shrimp Har Gao. These were actually pretty good! The shrimp was fresh, and the wrappers were nice and thin. Definitely a highlight of the meal.
Finally, the Pan Fried Noodles showed up. This was a huge portion! Noodles were crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and the sauce was savory and slightly sweet. I struggled to finish it, but I gave it my best shot.
Overall, Dim Sum Express was a solid experience. Nothing mind-blowing, but the food was tasty, the service was quick, and the prices were reasonable. Perfect for a casual lunch or a quick dinner.
Would I go back? Yeah, probably. It’s a good option when I’m craving dim sum and don’t want to break the bank.
