It is not easy to find those local resteraunts hidden in small alleys. One thing I learned is that there are like a thousand different dim sum dishes just from Guangdong alone. That’s insane! No other place in China even comes close. So, it’s not just about finding the best spot, but also trying to taste as many different types as possible. And after filling my belly up for a whole month and taking notes, it’s a fun thing to share and it will take forever to try them all.
I even tried to learn a bit of Cantonese to order, which was a disaster, but the aunties and uncles serving were always super nice about it. They see me taking notes and photos. They know I am seriously into this dim sum thing. I guess what I’m saying is, the best dim sum in Central? It’s out there. You just gotta go find it. And eat a lot of dumplings along the way.
