Okay, so, it was our 40th anniversary, and we wanted to throw a big bash. But, you know, feeding a crowd can be a real headache. I spent days, seriously, DAYS, scouring the internet for some easy but yummy party food ideas. I mean, who wants to be stuck in the kitchen the whole time? Not me!
First, I got organized. I decided to make a big list of food that was easy to make in big batches but was still good for guests. I didn’t want just chips and peanuts, so I made a big list of all kinds of food we could have. We wanted a good mix of sweet stuff and the regular savory kind of food you know?
The Savory Stuff
I figured, start with the savory stuff, right? I remembered someone mentioning garlic bread pizzas once, and I thought, “Bingo!” They’re super easy to make, and everyone loves pizza. I just took some loaves of garlic bread and cut them into slices, added some tomato sauce and cheese, and some toppings, and baked them. It was so easy, and they were a hit!
- Garlic Bread Pizzas: Sliced, topped, and baked. So easy!
- Mini Burgers: These little guys are always a winner. I just made a big batch of burger patties and served them with small buns and various toppings.
- Nachos: Can’t go wrong with nachos. I just made a huge tray and set out bowls of all the fixings like salsa, guacamole, and sour cream.
- Cream cheese cookie cups: For these, I just put some cream cheese and some spices in cookie dough and baked it, and they were pretty good.
Sweet Treats
Then, for the sweet stuff, I thought, “Everyone loves cookies, right?” I found this recipe for cookies made from brownie mix. They were so good! I also had some cookie cups with cream cheese filling, which were not hard to make at all.
- Box Brownie Cookies: Chewy, chocolatey, and so easy to make.
- Cream cheese cookie cups: These were a bit more work, but totally worth it. They’re like little bite-sized cheesecakes.
I set everything out buffet-style, so people could just grab what they wanted. I also made sure to have plenty of drinks on hand. It was a bit of work, but seeing everyone enjoying the food made it all worthwhile. And the best part? I actually got to enjoy the party too!
In the end, it was a great party, and the food was a big success. I didn’t feel like I missed the whole thing slaving away in the kitchen, and everyone was full and happy. We have had a lot of people ask us for the recipes. It was for sure a party to remember. It was so much fun. I’m already thinking about what I’ll make for our 50th!
