Okay, so “dim sum amsterdam” was on my mind. I’ve always loved dim sum, and I was craving it bad. So, I started my mission.

Finding the Spot
First things first, I needed to find a place. I started by asking my questions,I got a few names, but nothing really clicked. They were either too far, too fancy, or just didn’t have the vibe I was looking for.
Then I keep looking other questions and checking some local blogs. Scrolling, scrolling, scrolling… Finally, I saw a suggestion: Sea Palace restaurant. It’s this huge floating Chinese restaurant,I figured I gotta check it out.
The Dim Sum Journey
I hopped on my bike, because, Amsterdam. It was a bit of a ride, but hey, exercise and dim sum, right? When I got there, this place was HUGE. Like, seriously, a giant floating pagoda-looking thing. Inside, it was all red and gold, very traditional Chinese restaurant decor.
Ordering (and Maybe Over-Ordering)
I sat down, and a friendly waiter came over. I was so ready. I started pointing at the menu, ordering all the classics:
- Har Gow (shrimp dumplings) – Gotta have those!
- Siu Mai (pork dumplings) – Always a winner.
- Char Siu Bao (barbecue pork buns) – My weakness.
- Cheung Fun (rice noodle rolls) – I got the shrimp ones.
- And some other things I can even spell …
The Feast
The food started arriving, and oh boy, it was a feast. The Har Gow were perfect, plump and juicy. The Siu Mai were savory and delicious. And the Char Siu Bao? Fluffy, sweet, and filled with that amazing barbecue pork. I was in heaven.

I ate, and ate, and ate. Seriously, I probably ordered too much, but it was all so good! I even tried some new things, like these crispy fried taro dumplings. Different, but tasty!
The Aftermath
Finally, I was stuffed. I leaned back, completely satisfied. It was one of the best dim sum I’ve had, that time was a great experence.
I paid the bill , and waddled back to my bike. I definitely needed that bike ride home after all that food!
If you want to eat some dim sum in Amsterdam. I would recommend go to the Sea Place to have a try.
