Imperial Treasure Dim Sum: Is It Worth the Hype? We Tried It, So You Do Not Have To!

Okay, so, today I want to talk about my little adventure with dim sum at this place called Imperial Treasure. I’d heard about it from a buddy who wouldn’t stop raving about their Teochew dim sum, and, well, I had to see what the fuss was all about.

First off, finding a decent dim sum place can be a bit of a pain, right? I mean, making it at home takes forever, so eating out is usually the way to go. But I wasn’t really in the mood for the usual spots like Pearl Liang or Royal China. I wanted something a bit… fancier, I guess.

So, I headed over to Imperial Treasure. Now, I didn’t know exactly where their shop was, so I just randomly picked one. I walked in, and the place was buzzing, but not in an overwhelming way. It was more like a comfortable hum of people enjoying their food. They didn’t have those dim sum carts rolling around since it was still their soft opening period, but I was told they’d be bringing them in later. I decided to check it out.

The Food

I ordered a bunch of different dishes – you know, the usual suspects like steamed dumplings, some baked stuff, and a few fried goodies. I also ventured out and tried some things I’d never had before. And let me tell you, everything was on point. I know some folks online were saying the service could be better, but honestly, I didn’t have any issues. Everyone was pretty chill and helpful.

  • The steamed dumplings were juicy and flavorful.
  • The baked buns had that perfect balance of sweet and savory.
  • And the fried dishes were crispy without being greasy.

It was like a flavor explosion in my mouth! I was so engrossed in the food that I barely noticed the crowd around me, even though some people online mentioned it wasn’t the best. By the way, I also heard that they serve Peking duck that is very good, I will definitely try it next time.

The Price

Now, I know what you’re thinking – “fancy” usually means “expensive.” But here’s the thing: the dim sum menu at Imperial Treasure is actually pretty reasonable. Yeah, it’s a bit more than your average dim sum joint, but it’s not going to break the bank. Most of the dishes were around 9, which isn’t too shabby for the quality you’re getting.

Overall

All in all, I had a great time at Imperial Treasure. I get why my friend was so hyped about it. It’s definitely a step up from your average dim sum experience, but it’s not so fancy that you feel out of place. If you’re looking for some top-notch dim sum that won’t cost you an arm and a leg, I’d say give Imperial Treasure a shot. I highly recommend giving it a try, especially if you’re into Teochew cuisine. You won’t regret it!

So yeah, that was my little dim sum adventure. I left the restaurant feeling full, happy, and already planning my next visit. What about you guys? Have you ever been to Imperial Treasure? What did you think? Let me know in the comments!
